Large Scale Central

Beltpak R/C

Sometime last year we had a discussion about this system for operating full size locos in yards.
Can someone please give me the link to the Beltpak website.
I’ve tried Google and cannot find it.

Thanks Mate.

Planning something, Tony?

Just a bit of mind mulling from that earlier discussion.

I invented all this R/C stuff for Large Scale trains in 1986. http://www.rcs-rc.com/index.php?page_id=1004
So I have to stay one jump a head and give the opposition something else to copy.

Tony, why would I want to give up a hand-held, pocket sized controller for something I have to drag around on my belt?

Why would you indeed?

Shhh. He’s putting micromotors and sub-woofers in the back pack so you get the full, earthshaking effect as your 1:29 diesel rolls by. Either that, or it’s for the Virtual Reality simulator run via stereo cameras in the cab of the locomotive. (It comes complete with text-message cell phone for the California customers. )

Later,

K

'tis mazing what you can do with the latest SPEKTRUM 2.4 GHz R/C stuff.

Not expensive either.

Tony,

Go get 'em, bite 'em on the flank!

Tony,

Beltpack? Why not a wrap-around console - call it the “Train-Porch” - with a LCD touchdisplay to throw the turnouts on the track schematic and two-way communications to acknowledge all commands sent to the respective engines/trains in proper train parlance?

Thats what I like to see offered.

All sorts of good advice.

Tony,

Glad to see you are seeing the lite…

Bob,

I don’t eat or drink anything that is labelled lite.
I like food to taste like it was meant to taste. No watered down rubbish for me.
Especially lite milk. To me it tastes like how I would imagine Cockies Pee would taste.

However, if you mean seeing the light, I saw that a long time ago.

I agree.
We may have just solved Global Warming, as I’m sure Hell is about to freeze over

Tony,

Since you have seen the light, will we be seeing a new RCS 2.4 Ghz system shortly??

No.
I see no need to change from 27 Mhz. It works just fine.
RCS survives precisely because I do not change it.
Unlike Other companies, RCS does not need to change what it does just for the sake of change.
Every couple of years they can force their loyal customers to buy new “stuff”, if that is how they wish to operate.
Stuff that is incompatible with what is being replaced.

She said and I fully agreed! ;) :)
