Large Scale Central

Believe it or not, there is a railroad out there

While it is hard to believe. Today for the first time since late January, some track is now visible. While we still have over 2 ft of snow covering Deck Yard, most of the layout is only under 4-6 inches of snow and with luck our first train of the season will run sometime next week.

Well look at that. There is Hope Spring is coming!

Most of my RR popped out last week but there are still shady spots that are socked in ice. I’m surprised at how many leaves collected considering the RR was cleaned up and trains were running up until the epic snowfall started.

Give it a few more days to melt Stan then cross your fingers for little to no damage.

Happy RRing.

My track is all exposed now. I had shoveled most of it out before the thaw and the huge piles I made are yet to melt. My back yard is just starting to show a small spot of grass. Early Spring weather is late this year.

Spring has finally arrived so today we ran a snow train it buck the remaining snow off the railroad. The train consisted of three K-27s for power, a box car for the tools and two cabooses for the crew. The train made it all the way down the hill to Chama and the railroad is finally open for the 2015 season.

Snow Train 2015

Nice set of Locomotives, Stan…

Glad to hear the snow has melted. The last few days really helped clear the snow up here. Great video, fun watching the clean up.
