Battery advice

I have two Radio Shack NICAD batteries for one of their cars that provide power for my lgb Mgul. Now that I’m bringing it out of retirement it is ready for new batteries. Are their batteries still the best choice?

Probably not. Try Batteryspace.Com - they have good pricing. You also have the choice to change to some other style if you want. I’ll assume these are 7.2V packs wired in series to give you 14.4 volts at the loco throttle input.

Ex. Radio Shack manager

Doug; There are several electonic wholesalers that will set up a pack for you. That is how I got a set of 9.2 or is it .3 , any way they are Nicll Metal Hydrid (spelling) for my Caboose markers and thsy work just fine. You might try the TOC as he has batteries in the size and ranges you will want.

Hello Doug,

This is Rick Isard from Cordless Renovations…a great choice is our 14.4V AA2300mah Nimh battery-packs, they’ll give you about 2 - 2.5 hours of run-time, the pack will fit into a small area around the engine and the Nimh cells can with stand a high amount of discharge. You can go to our website to view pricing and photos: www.cordlessrenovations.com . . . or you can try one of our 14.8V 2600mah Lithium-ion battery-packs, there light-weight and only four cells at 3.77 volts ea. They too will with stand a rate discharge.

Give me a call if you have any questions,
