The double battery pack at the top of the photo is a Nickle-Metal Hydride pack, 14.4volts, 3.3 AH installed in my Annie in March of 06. It was starting to give up so I had to change it out. I think I got my monies worth out of it though.

The replacement at the bottom is a Li-Ion 14.8 volt, 3.4 AH pack. More battery, smaller size, and better performance, I’m told. And I didn’t have any trouble fitting it in the tender in place of the old pack

I knew the old pack was larger but it has been locked away in the tender for 12 years so it was a little surprising to see how much bigger, Wow. The new system is on the charger and we will see how it preforms tomorrow, if the dang rain stops

Rooster that is a pile of drawings of the Southern Pacific Narrow gauge engines #8, #9. #17, #18 and #22 for a project I have started.

I have two old Big Haulers that I bought new chassis for as well as Barry’s pilot assemblies and am rebuilding a couple of engines to represent the generic style of the SPNG engines. I will probably lean more toward #8 and #9

(former Nevada California Oregon, NCO) engines because of the closer match to driver spacing, diameter etc. Although I am using Walcherts valve gear cuz I just love all the motion.

If you had room for those stick batteries you might have room for this one.

Hey, guys FYI. You get what you pay for. My batteries from MTO include the additional short protection. Take any other battery and touch the red and black wire and see your lower cost battery stop working or worse and then go buy a new one. MTO batteries do cost more, but they are matched Panasonic cells with better protection.

I had my share of other brands batteries that go dead due to an customer oops.
