Bashing a LGB Porter into a Forney

It was rainy last weekend and I was itching for a quick project so I cut down a cheap Echo tender, bolted it to a LGB Porter and made a small Forney.
This loco is battery powered with Piko control.

I made a video featuring the build process and then the Forney hits the rails to turn a hot lap on the RR with several runbys for your viewing pleasure.

It’s fun to make things that are a bit different.

I like it!
For years I have been thinking about bashing an LGB Mogul into a 2-6-4 Forney type.

Todd, it looks and runs great. Nice work. :+1:

You might be thinking of a Mason Bogie, which was/is an improved Forney. Like this:

Nice!
Yes, that is what I had in mind.
It’s on my list of things to do.

Todd;

Great job! Now for a view of extreme opposites, could you photograph it pulling the Schnabble car?

I’m with Mr. Meashey. The colors even match.

Now that would be a feat Dave.

I think this new Forney could pull the Schnable IF it was pointed down grade and given a little push.

The Schnable weighs 22 pounds ! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Just harness Meashey’s coon cat to the pilot and put an open can of tuna down the line.
Piece of cake!

Guys;

Better make sure the tuna can is between the rails; however I cannot be sure she would follow the rails!

Hate to see anything get damaged.

Best, David Meashey
