I spent a relaxing last evening watching a baseball game and trains. The Spokane RiverHawks (West Coast Collegiate Baseball League – a league where college players from all over play during the summer to keep in practice) opened at the new field at Gonzaga University in Spokane. Beautiful new ballpark over looks the BNSF Funnel. Before the fourth inning was over–five trains rolled by. By the ninth a total of eight trains, including a UP mixed freight heading to Canada.
We beat Kelowna 11 to 7.
In two weeks I’m going over to watch the Mariners beat the Red Sox. The BNSF north/south mainline runs practically right thru the stadium. You’ve prolly heard the whistles when you watch a game on tv from Safeco Field. The right field bleacher seats over hang the mainline.
Summer’s here at last!
