Yesterday I found the only Banta Shay wooden cab kit east of Plymouth rock.
I bought it.
I built it this evening.
It’s a great model.
Sad to think there are prolly no more.

Banta’s still in business, but has no interest in furthering their line to more locomotive cabs or pilots for the large scale market. (I asked at the Narrow Gauge convention, and got a rather frigid response.) More’s the pity, in my opinion. To their credit, they did recommend another manufacturer, who was quite receptive to the idea. They already produce cabs and pilot, etc. for the HO and O scale market. I’ve just got to dig through my literature to remember who they were…

Kev, …Bummer, I really wish there was more custom conversion stuff avail in Fn3 like On3/0 see link on report of Banta kits for Fn3 below: http://120pointme.blogspot.com/search?q=banta they told me about 2 years ago they were in final pre-production of a kit for a 45tonner
