Hi all
Glad you are enjoying the build. It is not just a cold hearted sales ploy, but more a show of how to build something from scratch and also to give an insight into pattern making. I really love seeing other peoples projects and threads, and the best way to encourage folks to do it is to lead by example and put something back into the forum that we all get so much from. There is nothing fancy or specialist in what I do, it is just simple materials put together to look like a loco
On a slightly different note… I have made some great progress today on the Shark around the rear door and the radiators and fans, no pictures yet as it is all covered in white bits of plastic so nothing really stands out, but when I get a coat of gray on I will take some shots.
Thanks again folks for the kind words
Rob
Wow, that is some really nice work there! Looks like it will be a beautiful loco when finished.
I always liked those shark nose diesels, a very cool design.
I’ve said for a long time now that a Sharknose logically would be a big hit in the 1/29 crowd, but apparently logic is a four letter word in the big companies
I think you will find the word ‘profit’ at the head of any list Victor. After all they wan’t to stay in business. lol
Given the interest in this topic here and on GSC I think there definelty IS a market and it could be done basicly a reshell of the Aristo FA-1, or the USA F7, to me its a no brainer, especially since the even bigger PA-1 has done well enough.
Rob Fern said:Rob, I missed out on the ML 4000's cause of my hospital thing but would like 2 of these with NYC decals if your going to do them.
Hi all. Yes David, there has been a bit more progress on her, it is very sporadic due to my shifts but the end is in sight now. Follow this link to the site in the UK where you will find the updates including pictures and info. http://www.gscalecentral.co.uk/f/m155599.aspx I can't get over the level of interest in these, they must be really hitting the spot with the diesel guy's! Thanks again Rob
You can contact me when the info is ready. I also think that 2 other members in my club will be getting a Pair too…
Nice work so far.
Nick
Nick,
Robb said he had two of the ML 4000 kits still, might write him, if you still want one.

I know one thing I sure will be interested in buying a couple of these Shark locos. Can’t wait to see the end results. Later RJD
I sure hope we are getting close I picked up my second set of aristo power trucks for the project today. Keep us informed.
Thanks
There will be an update very soon with pictures (they speak louder than words) A bit more roof work then I can get that in primer which is better to look at in pictures than white plastic.
Been tricky to get the time on it over the last couple of weeks due to work.
cheers
Rob

WOW Rob that is really looking great. To bad Northern Pacific didn’t run any, however I know a friend is getting itchy to get his hands on two of these models.
Good luck with this venture.
EXCELLENT!
Rob, that is fantastic. Great work. Really like how clean and crisp the details are
