Backshop Cubby

The boss ordered the backshop crew to build a crummy for the newly acquired Elk River & Idaho RR.

So they found an old wrecked box car and started the project. Too lazy to weld up a fancy railing, they just used some more of the box car. They found an old set of passenger trucks to put underneath.

(Actually, I scratch built this, but you need a good story.)

John, never let the truth interfere with a good story.

Great project, BTW.

Is the ER&I the old St Maries Branch of the MILW that ran from St Maries, ID, through Bovill, ID to Elk River?

Steve,

Basically all of that, plus a non existing line up to Kellogg and the Silver Valley.

nice lil cubby… great job…

That is very unique and the red sure POPS !

Do you think your crews will be happy having to ride the uncovered ends?

Coooool !!! Might try something like that.

Todd,

Who cares. I’m sittiin’ in the front office, out of the weather, with a nice cup of coffee.

Besides, they grow ‘em tough in that neck o’ the woods.

Very nice work as usual John

You guys said “Chubby”!

Get your mind out of the gutter. :frowning:

Joe, I think it is you that needs to get his mind out of the gutter.

I can’t/won’t do it for him!

Well, it is kind of a “Chubby Lil Cubby”.

He/she/it has a new name. Chubby.

Thanks, Rooster.

All because I can’t read John!

BTW…some more trim with an accent color on all the trimwork will really make that “chubby” pop/standout. Just my thoughts?

Shut Up Rooster!

I’ll pass that along to the shop. They will reply with something that can’t be printed here.

Bad case of hiccups.

…winking…
