Finaly got myself another live steamie! Thanks to some avid ebay searching and my lovely wife, I am now the proud owner of a Regner Willi. I should recieve him late this week or early next week. I just cleaned the final fallout of fall leaves from the railway, so a steamup will be in order. Probably will change from 45mm to 32mm track in the future. Need an affordable source of 32mm track first. Cant be any more expensive than used LGB track is anymore! I plan to add the Regner whistle, roof kit and water refeed valve shortly as well. Once I source new name plates, the Willi plates will go. Havent settled on a name yet, but it will be from the LoTR trillogy, as is the name of the line. Mike
One does not simply steam into Mordor…
Oooh! Name it ‘Smaug’!!!
SVRR has 32 mm track and ties.
Moving the ‘location’ of ME slightly, you might consider ‘RAGNAR’.

You can also get Peco 32mm track direct from Roundhouse (UK) the 32mm Peco stuff is very reasonable and is probably the standard over there. I bought a switch from Rounhouse when I last ordered a loco from them…think it was $35…just wanted to see what it was like…very nice. Code 200 I think Makes the 16mm stuff look really nice.
I like Smaug! Need to find a Hobbit looking engineer, but one that looks like he would rather be anywhere but working. Mike
I regauged my IP Engineering Timothy wood truck using LGB metal wheel sets and adding an additional timber to the frame rails. Its all clamped together and drying now. So the line will stay 45mm gauge so my friend can come run at my place. I have been drooling over pics in my older Steam in the Garden magazines when they held the Willi bash contest. Mike
Larry - PECO certainly IS the stuff - their 32mm n/s track has been down in the open at Beer Heights [lovely name, eh?] since about 1980. Temperatures are not extreme, but zero to 35C are quite usual, even on the Southern peninsular of GB.

Nice steamer Mike. Welcome to the burnt finger club. It is an adiction. Since I first started over a year ago, I will never get another track powered engine again. Live steam is way to much fun. I just ordered a Lumberjack as well. Cant wait to get it. I have some great kitbashing ideas for it. Love the Willi, should be a great steamer to kitbash. Throw a rusted metal roof with some wood sides on to it.
