Bachmann Trolley repower/upgrade

Over the years I have built a few replacement drives for Bachmann’s Trolley. I started out using my Pittman motor which was too expensive for me and the customer. Later designed a trolley drive using a Bachmann Shay motor and cluster gear, with a Stock drive axle gear. I have decided to build the drill jig to build the chassis. I am guessing, but should be ready in about a month. Customers interested can get credit for their Trolley wheels and I will be interested in buying shay motors (still running) and the little black cluster gears.

About how much will the drive cost?

Would be interested also Barry. Maybe need 2 drive units.

Do you have a pic showing what you want?

Barry. I have a 2-struck shay I’m willing to scrap out. One truck works fine, the other won’t run. I am hoping its just a busted wire or something.

A quick “off of the top of my head” is $150.00 or under. Also credit for parts as I listed so far.

There will be more to come.

Barry

J.D.,

What do you want for the trucks or parts from the trucks?

Barry

Dennis,

Since reading about your departure from Big D, I have been wondering how you are doing, are you continuing in Large Scale? Different problems in Illinois. (Correct?).

Barry

Dennis,

Sorry, I just remembered Illinois for some reason, Tennessee!

Been a long road the past year, house is almost finished and we have started the move in. My new workshop is 18 x 23 feet and got all this space to fill.

Also have a 18 x 28 foot train room, the back yard is limited in space, the area for the outdoor layout will be about 80 feet by 21 feet on one side by 16 feet on the other side. will be posting later on what to do there, but right now we need to finish moving into a incomplete house this next week. Contractor just has too many projects and it is 1-3 week between anything being done.

The drop dead date is now June 10th after returning from the NGRC2013 Convention.

Hope to see some of you there?

Back to packing, moving and unpacking now.
