Bachmann to make the Sterling Single "Emily" in large scale

Oh pooh… Methinks I’m gonna be in big trouble with the misses when this comes out

The Single has been one of my favorite engine types and now Bmann is dangling red meat in from of me, sure it will need a new smokebox door cover and a backhead and about a thousand other details, but its a SINGLE and its in LARGE scale.

I was going to get my kids a Percy, but I think I’ll wait. Emily is Andy’s favorite! What can I say–the kid’s got taste. (Well, at least as far as Thomas locos go. He also likes diesels… Hopefully it’s just a phase.)

Later,

K

I wanna molest Emily as I think she has the drive wheel I need !!!
Oh and I need another face as well…

When LSOL did a preview on the Emily coaches, the narrator/reviewer stated that the Emily loco would be out in a couple of months. This was at least six months ago, so Emily will most likely arrive in time for summer running.

If the drive is like the ‘h.o.’ version, then one of the smaller wheelsets is also geared to the main wheel drive, giving two geared axles.

Well this one is probably just the ticket I needed to start modeling a British railway. Looks like an easy-ish bash.

Mark,
there is already a ‘kit’ to make Percy more British outline. Also, Thomas could be similarly modified and painted black, resembling an 0-6-0 Jinty. The Emily coaches make a fair representation of a British coach.

edit: Also note news of the brake van and private owner coal waggon. Hopefully, guessing a box car and cattle car will be released next year. Things are finally moving in Thomas largescale!!!

The only page I could get to work was the Percy page. Could not pull up the coaches.

Jerry,
there is only the Percy web page. Thomas would need to be modelled from possibly the smokebox door part available on the site and the Emily coaches referred to are the stock Bachmann green coaches. Look to Gscalecentral forum where a member has made an excellent representation of a Jinty from a Thomas.
