I have a Bachmann Silverado set that I’d like to sell. The set is in the box but I’ve run the train itself - the track, transformer and such haven’t ever even been out of the box. The box is in decent shape but was outside in my storage caboose (we actually have an SP caboose we use for storage!) so it’s not in the greatest shape.
I have one of those ceiling train layouts and this train is the only one that gives me trouble so, rather than take it down and go through extensive cleaning so that it works for a week or two I’m just going to sell it to someone else and go back to 100% used German-made LGB stuff which almost never needs maintenance or repairs. Can you tell I wouldn’t be the greatest product spokesperson for this set?
Price is make an offer - I still have the price tag from when it was new and I paid like $280 for it. Obviously I have no expectations of getting close to that.
It’s a shame, this is probably the most beautiful train on my layout. Bachmann did a great job with this model in terms of appearance, but I’m not going to buy any more of their products 'cause I’m just not convinced their Chinese slaves do such a great job in the quality department.
