Has anyone had any luck gluing Bachmann 4-6-0 plastic side rods? If so. what glue should I use?
Thanks
Dennis
Hey Dennis, never tried it. Although the glue I use that works fantastic on just about every application is Loctite’s superglue.
You may want to take a small piece of styrene and place it behind the cracked rod for extra support- if there is clearance
Matt
Matt,
I tried several types of superglue and modeling glue without luck. I placed a piece of styrene on the back of the rod, but it would not stick to the rod.
Thanks
Dennis
Dennis,
I have several hundred siderods from Big Haulers (I replace them). Send me three bucks (no charge for the siderods) and I’ll mail you a pair.

Barry, do you have all the rods? I need a few connecting rods.
Mik,
What is a connecting rod?
I have a lot of the siderods and a few mainrods.

the connecting rod is the one that connects the cylinder to the wheels
I call that a main rod.
A few main rods.

Barry, would you prefer paypal or a check for 3?
Mik,
A pair of mainrods with the crosshead would be $5. A pair without the crosshead would be $3.
Shipping/postage would be $3. These are plastic stock Bachmann pieces. Metal castings much more.
Don’t do PayPal.
