Bachmann Side Dump Cars

I picked up a bunch of used Bachmann Side Dump Cars, more than I really need. I’d like to sell one box of 3. They have plastic wheels and the chains are in the original packs. The cars have been used but not painted. Apparently the former owner had something in them because there is some light glue residue on the insides. This is nothing really apparent unless you look very close and I’ve scraped out most of it from the floors. The wheels have some grime on them showing they they indeed were run on a layout. The side dumping mechanics work perfectly.

I’m offering the 3 pack for $50 shipped (lower 48 states). I’ll take a money order or Paypal. If you pay with Paypal it must be a verified account.
I’ll pack them in a different box as the Bachmann box is pretty flimsy.

Lots of views and no bites. Make a reasonable offer.

I’d take them in a blink of an eye if was not going to cost an arm and a leg to ship them here.

What happened to the metal wheels?

These are older units - All plastic frames / plastic wheels. I have one that just hangs around the layout.

Oh, I didn't know there was such a beast. The diecast ones are nice especially for 7/8 bashing.

I got mine in the “Mine Kit” which included a small plastic building and a mine head frame. I think the kits sold for about $20 new when they were available, so 3 cars for $50 is a reasonable starting point.

Gary Watkins at Sierra Valley Enterprises offers a conversion kit for the old time wood side dumps that adds either link & pin or Kadee couplers, smaller tie down chains, metal wheels and some other detail parts. Really cleans up the looks and makes them work and track well. Here is a link to the SVE kit:

Thanks Jon, I thought $50 shipped was fair. Now somebody jump in.
Jerry, those upgrade kits from Sierra are pretty cool, a bit pricey, but pretty cool.

I thought the kits were a nice deal. Each kit will do three cars. Ralph
