Tac, I don’t know who is buying the new LGB stuff. The F7-ABA for over $2k here seems ridiculous!! Oh well, right?
Dont forget the streamline cars…that are on average around $500 a pop! Marklin is out of their bloody minds
Kind of makes you wish the real EPL/LGB was still around, eh?

I might have looked at purchasing another LGB American tank car, but at $134 per copy, they need them more than I do, by a long shot. I already have several B’mann Tank car kits on the shelf, if I need to put more into service, that I purchased for $20 each several years ago…
I LOVE the new blue bonnet F7’s! But apparently I love $1,400.00 more.
I find myself thinning the herd…

With the brothers still in charge? Nah…

Still be the same crash…just would happen on a different day…
Got a crash photo for the owners that came after them? I seem to recall that they haven’t done much better insolvency-wise!

John Joseph Sauer said:Well now ...thats something else entirely. Not so much any crash of yet, just a grinding slowness and lingering dissappointment at the lack of products and the ever higher price tags.

Pretty well summed up there Victor. I miss those beautiful catalogs with pages of “train porn” for me to ogle. I miss the new Euro stuff most. I do like the new Euro produce containers but at the price they compete with my 1:20.3 rolling stock desires.
Before we continue lashing Marklin over prices, look to the elephant in the room, Bachmann! Locally (Australia) can get the newly rereleased Uintah Mallet for $920 Aud. The B’mann Mallet is still on sale for up to $1250, both locomotives are DCC ready but no sound or decoders fitted. Given the already proven track record of the German (Hungarian/Chinese?) manufacturer, my money is on the European company for ‘value’. Bachmann are really moving into a very tight niche market with their pricing. As prices increase one would expect a rise in quality, but then the latter company is not particularly known for its quality control.

What a lot of people seem to forget: nobody is forced to buy anything!!!
Can’t afford it, don’t buy it!
Don’t like the quality (or lack thereof), don’t buy it!
Don’t like the country of origin, don’t buy it!
Of course that will take a bit of will power, since many people just absolutely have to have … (fill in as you see fit) and what’s more, they have to have it RIGHT NOW! And once they get it, what are the chances that they bitch about the lacking quality, the high price and the lousy goods that come out of … (fill in as you see fit).

Historical revisions are mostly hysterically sad.
As always strictly my opinion!
Wow…Didn’t think even you would stoop that low…

Thanks Randy!
One or two days a week for railfanning suits me just fine. Doing my homework on the 'puter i.e. figuring out new shooting locations is fun too. And when the trains show up when I expect them is the gravy.
