Bachmann Narrow Gauge 55 Ton Three-Truck Shay

Is this new Bachmann Shay available yet?

Nope…they claim October, but don’t hold yer breath!!!

I’m going to go with Bart’s assessment of the situation. The problem seems to be that we have yet to see ANY pictures other than that drawing. Is there an engineering prototype that they are working on? If so, we aren’t privy to it and the Bach-man is pretty good about posting “first photos” when the model prototype nears completion. Then, adding the time it takes to test it and then send it to China so that the tooling can be made and then actually MAKE the models, package them, ship them to the U.S. and get them into the hobby stores in time for the third quarter?!! That’s pushing it a bit if you ask me but I don’t work for Bachmann so what do I know? I will say that, once the first pics of the working model are posted, it will be much easier to estimate when the finished products will be in the stores.

I think they wanted you to say that , Steve , so’s they could
a ) shock everyone
b ) blame you .
Mike
ps I already made mine .

Now if the model should happen to turn out like the picture, I suppose I would buy one. Don’t really need another engine but then I like the looks of the three truck Shay.

Cheers,

I think I would prefer one that was painted rather than one that looked like a line drawing…

Heck, at this point I’d take an unpainted one over just a line drawing! Still, if they can pull it off, it should be a winner!

Yeah… I need another locomotive like a hole in the head. However, this one looks sweet!

Ehhhhh Pass…not only do I already have a Three truck shay…I got a 4 truck one…

Wow… aren’t you the lucky boy??

…and not only that, it is 7/8n2.

MASSIVE!!!

I have two class B’s … does that count as a four truck Shay when run together?

Had always thought a spring water source or perhaps a winery served by the railroad would require a string of tank cars (or boxcars full of casks) and two geared locomotives … labelled, of course “Perrochet” …
