Bachmann G Climax rear drive line replacement: how to (yes, I did see Schyrman's site -sp)

That says it. For an older Bachmann Climax with the, “solid,” rear drive line, I need to replace that with the updated drive line that will spin free. Have the part. One popular site has info, but says to pull out the drive line from the rear truck drive line sleeve to give room to remove the two screws on opposite/yoke end. But that line is intentionally long enough to, “not,” slip out. Do I have to remove the rear truck some to give me enough slack? Foolishly simple little update here, but I’m doing all the homework I can first. Tips appreciated, Dennis

Dennis, it’s been a long time since I worked on my climaxes, but yes I pulled the trucks.
I don’t remember why… :grinning:

Dennis,
Like John it has been a long time since I worked on my Climax engines but here is some info I have on file regarding truck removal.
