Is there any info on this model besides a few pix from the Nuremburg Toy Fair?
It doesn’t seem to bringing as much attention as another company’s Euro Style Trains always do.

I believe that is actually an Aristocraft locomotive being distributed by Bachmann. My understanding is that it’s about ready for release. There was some information on it over in the Aristo forums.

Excellent detail, scale 1:29, in different paint versions that run in UK and EU.
I also should add that it is NOT going to be available in North America. That has to do with the contract between Aristo and Bachmann of Europe.

Hmmmm…“Excellent detail, scale 1:29”…So with this statement HJ, we now see that your reports are biased and slanderous against a single manufacturer which you do not prefer. When objectivity is sacrificed then all reports from that “source” become suspect.
Marvin, you contrary Texan, Did you already forget? I’m just the messenger, has nothing to do with bias and even less with slander. I’m still in the process of translating the report from that source; believe it or not in this house there are a few other things that don’t revolve around supposed perceptions, various misconceptions and required contraceptions. Soooooooo take a deep breath and count to ten! BTW I found a quote of someone (apparently) near and dear to your heart

You still don’t realize that I have extremely limited emotions (except for rage) and none of this fuss really bothers me. Maybe my writing style conveys a false misconception. For that I have no answer. I don’t agree with the quote you found, but hey that’s just me. However, I can see where many think that the end justifies the means. But perceptions are EVERYTHING…and a given reality is often misleading. Something to think about, “Every day is a test…some days we pass and some days we fail.” by me.
Made in conjunction with Bach-UK and Aristo.
Bach-UK does all sorts of stuff.
What is really funny is the folks who think this is a HUGE engine.
I posted the specs once, in 1:29 it is substantially SMALLER than a 45 or -9.
Has nothing to do with Bach-US OR Kader.
It appears to be fairly long, but it’s quite a bit shorter in height. A single container on a flat car is taller than it is. I’d guess it’s only about 12’6" high, whereas an SD40-2 is about 15’.
Edit:
I just looked up it’s measurements. It’s 70’ (21.35m) long, but as I suspected it’s only 12’9" (3.91m) high.

It is really big compared to the Diesels that usually roam the EU rails.
Not tall since it has to fit the UK profile. The calendar picture in my office clearly shows that it’s taller than a standard container on one of the EU container cars.
Ah, but the funny part was the folks on some forum worrying it wouldn’t go around the curves a -9 would.
On another note, I was on a short vacation, the most amazing thing I found was a 1940’s all-metal Half-Zero articulated in an antique shop for $500.
Funny because the box said AHM.
Funny because it was a plastic Rvarossi with those HUGE flanges.
The gal who owned the antique shop swore the guy she bought it from had the invoice, and it was from the 40’s.
The end of the box was ripped off, so I pulled the instructions out and had her read me the address.
I then asked her to read the ZIP code, which she did.
I then told her ZIP codes came about in what, 1963, and anything with a ZIP was newer.
And that her asking price was right on the money, except it had one too many zeroes.
Morons.
Caveat Emptor!!!
I don’t go into antique shops anymore. I’ve gotten chucked out of too many for pointing out which “rare original” cast iron toys were imported reproductions. (Hint: if they are brazed together they were usually made in the '70’s in Taiwan…if they have phillips screws they are probably current Chinese stuff…Older domestic repops from the '30’s &'50’s are a bit tougher, but generally the fit and finish aren’t as nice as the 1890-1920’s originals)
Repro tin toys are harder to spot, I’ll let somebody with more expertise weigh in on them (But if it has a sticker that says “for collectors only not for children” it’s a pretty good clue)
