And again, another sound board where the chuff is louder then the whistle. Did I miss something???

Takes a number of years to make a great sound board and have good recordings.

Also, remember chuff is mostly high frequencies (at least that one!) so more volume from a small speaker. Multi chime steam whistle is more comples waveform, harder to reproduce at high volumes without distortion, more bass component.

Greg

Greg, yes, I understand some of the challenges to it. But its still wrong.

I like my Sierra boards, even though the sound of shoveling coal is way too loud in proportion to the whistle.

I’m agreeing with you David… there seems to be a lot of activity to make a small r/c system, but I think many of these companies doing it underestimate the effort to get it right with sound.

That said, I have met a lot of people who cannot tell the difference between a Phoenix and the early MyLocoSound.

Greg

Greg, yea, sound is a very subjective subject. Each person interprets sound differently. I can’t stand MP3s, because of the loss of depth and richness to the music. But other people think MP3s are just great. Its all in the ear of the beholder.
