Did Bachmann ever get the Industrial (Indy) out this year? If they have I have not seen any reviews and no one seems to have any in stock plus its not on the Bachmann web site. If it is in stores where can I get one?
I saw an ad in the last Garden Railways. Apparently, they are just shipping. I’m wondering if they’re only a mod of the old Annies or if they’re really an all new chassis and design. Might call St. Aubins. They might know. Let us know if you find anything else out.

Try RGSRR Hobbies (970-626-3733) Nice guy. (www.rgsrrhobbies.com) He may have them. Or perhaps St. Aubins. My question was whether the NEW Indy 2-6-0 was merely a re-do of the original Annie or if it was an entirely new locomotive.
My understanding is that both the 4-6-0 (“annie”) and 2-6-0 (“indie”) have received mechanical overhauls, including new metal gears. I know the 2-4-2 and Climax did, and the 2-6-0 was announced for re-release at the same time. I’ve only heard 2nd-hand reference to the 4-6-0 being re-worked, but given Bachmann’s trend towards putting metal gears on everything now (finally!!!) I’d have little reason to doubt it.

That sounds like good news. Now to go find one to look at.

The guys on the KMRR are very happy today. They got their new 2-6-0 industrial mogul delivered from Balwin Locomotives. The guys took it for a ride along the line to see how well it performed. Overall the engine ran great. Ran really well along the line, very smooth and runs at very slow speed without studdering. Its a perfect size for the logging operations. They figure after a few runs through the backwoods the engine will look like the rest of the fleet. Here it is new.
Congrats on the new addition!
Shawn glad to see it arrived in great condition. have fun glad I could help

Kevin,
Do you happen to know if the new metal gears are a direct replacement for use on older versions of Annies and Indies and if so, are they available as spare parts?
I don’t know. My guess would be no, but can’t say for sure.

Sweet! I’d like to get one of those someday.
Ray Dunakin said:Ray the Indie would look nice on your layout. For the price it is a good deal especially it being a Big Hauler with Spectrum features. Whats funny is they say its a big Hauler series but also states it is 1:20 scale. I always thought big Haulers were 1:22. My next step is to put some decals on it and then weather it.

Jan’s “Presidential Train” includes a first run of this engine that was well aged in Canada. After Dave Goodson’s mods it has proven to be a very capable hauler of small quantities of rolling stock. ;
If it’s anything like the original “Indie” you’ll need to add weight to get any kind of traction. As I recall the stock engine could barely pull 2 coaches up a 2% incline without slipping.
Probably time to trot out this pic again…

Just add Delton c-16 cab and tender shell.
The chassis, gears and wheels are not replacements for anything previous.
The chassis is all cast metal withthe brakes cast in place (metal), Very nicely put together, should last a long time.
Should pull well has some weight to it.
