Large Scale Central

Bachman New products in Large scale

it looks like they are going to produce turnouts to compliment their brass track. actually looks like a reasonable price point. no mention of turnout size ,radius etc., manual switch stand extra. top of page 7

Oh wow…we get a reissue Spectrum Mogul and a turnout…forgive me if I fail excitement.

The turnout is 2’ radius. That’s gonna do us 1:20.3ers a whole world of good, eh?

Vic, I’m with you. Decidedly underwhelmed, especially given the tone of the discussion I had with Bachmann reps at a show in March where they alluded to new stuff coming down the pike. A repaint is not “new.”

If there’s a silver lining, one can hope they upgraded the gearing on the 2-6-0, and that we can buy the upgraded gearbox from their parts store to retrofit our older locos. I’ll gladly do another round of surgery on my existing 2-6-0 if it means I can put brass gears in it.

Later,

K

Kevin, The new Mogul sure does me no good whatsoever, even if I really like the Grizzly Flats version. Seriously though I was expecting nothing but reissues but I was hoping it might be more than just one item, I wont even consider the circus caboose to even register as counting as a ‘new release’. I will be shocked if the turnouts is 2 footer, Isn’t R1 dead, with only stubborn idgiot-galloots like me the last holdouts? That’s what I keep reading online, seams to me they should have come out with an 8’D turnout then they could run more that 3 of their own locomotives on it.

If there is ANY silver lining for me, it will be what does the new switch stand that listed going to look like?

PS see my comments on the Bmann site re On30, they got stiffed but then they aren’t exactly starving either.

Yawn.

Well on another forum someone mentioned that Bmann also announces their annual Xmas releases at the International Toy Fair in September, so there is still opportunity for more new stuff come Xmas.

Or Valentine’s Day, at least.

Just what I (don’t) need, a Christmas train. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well you know what they meant, the announcements for Christmas releases, when we find we will be getting a large scale Thomas “Trevor the Tractor” or similar useless item.

Now Vic , do not knock the stuff that gets the youngsters into the hobby .

I could do with a Thomas the Tractor anyway .

Mike

Mike, Its just that Trevor doesn’t need track, so is not really a train as such.

Doesn’t need track ?

Oh the humanity!!

Where will it end ?
