Since they have been making all that for Aristo and Bachmann I’m sure they know what sells the best and will concentrate on that area. Eggliners were always good sellers I heard, so makes sense they are first out of the chute. At least something is going on, so should improve everyone’s morale.
It’s interesting that Kader owns the physical molds…but what about the intellectual property that was used to design the molds? I suspect Bachmann would have to pay Aristo or Scott to attain the intellectual property which accompanies the molds.
Otherwise it might be like printing out an article that somebody else wrote and calling it your own just because you use your own printer and paper.
I do not believe that Scott owns the intellectual rights to the molds. If anyone owns those rights, it would probably be Lewis. But we are talking about the Chinese here. They have a history of stealing intellectual property that goes back decades. Since they have the molds, what more do they need?

The K-Line Speeder, also marketed by USAT, is already made, so doubtful it will change from the 1:32 is is scaled in.
But maybe what you are saying is what scale will they “claim”? Well Large Scale, of course! That’s their category, at least on their web site.
Of course it could be G scale too! Even I can figure this out ha ha!

That’s an interesting turn of events, Aristo was under contract made by Kader, Kader owned the tooling, Aristo folds, Kader still owns the tooling, Kader also owns Bachmann.Kader- Bachmann also owns Williams and KLine.
Seems I recall making a prediction a while ago that eventually all of Aristos Kader contracted items would end up at Bachmann.
So…what scale will Bachmann release that speeder under ??? Certainly not 1/20 if its the same molds…even 1/22 would be a stretch…so…1/29 ???

How did someone from my family get into this?

You related to the Amazing Criswell?
Now if Bachmann would re-run their 1:20.3 boxcars, tankers, and 2-bay hopper again, I have a large need…
Trainworld was trying to blow out the last of the tank cars and boxcars there Bob. I don’t see the boxcars anymore, but the tank cars are still listed.
ha ha… someone said “intellectual property” in the same sentence as a Chinese manufacture’s name.
It’s a whole different world over there, knockoffs, patent violations, blatent copies with the same name. Why, could you imagine making a perfect mold of an LGB tie strip down to the identical grain on every tie?
Greg
I just wish someone would reissue the entire line of Aristo figures. Especially the seated figures. They fit great in my LGB coaches, and also (most) have late 40s era appropriate clothing.
Very hard to find them anymore (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)
I wonder if B’mann will offer an “Eggliner” Incubator with every dozen you purchase… Hatching the bloody things might make purchasing them somewhat interesting…, but just about as boring as watching them run continuously, around in circles, or watching paint dry…
Fred, I dunno. Someone demonstrated a battery powered one to me once. He put it on the floor, pushed the transmitter’s lever up, and scared the poop right out of the dog. Now that’s entertainment! Who copied the LGB tie strip?
Stan
Take your pick as to which is LGB and which is the fake.
In this case the fake is not Chinese. It was Korean. I have a piece of the fake track.
Wasn’t there a brough haha some years ago where LGB sued Aristocraft for copying their track? The judge threw it out saying, “track is track, play nice.”
Steve, yes, that is what Greg is referring to.
I wish they would produce the On30 line in large scale.
Oh yea, one of the T boiler shays, or the small drivered locomotives with the cabbage stack, would look good trundling around my backyard.
Like I need anymore locomotives.
I think the best anyone can hope for from any company is a re-issue from their existing molds. Doubt any see anything new in the future. There are rumors of USA doing 844 though.

So do alot of people, I think we should be hoping that they even keep On30 alive. The suits in China only see the almighty dollar signs, nothing else. If they thought the only thing they could make money in large scale with was the Thomas line and dump everything else, I don’t doubt they would dump it.
