Axle bushing help

any suggestions where I can get nylon or delrin tube? Like the stuff used to insulate the wheels from the axles on metal wheelsets. I have six axles for this old heavyweight that have old rubber/plastic wheels with overlong, undersized axles. Can’t use std replacement wheelsets in the cast trucks so need to replace the inner bushing for the smaller axle diameter.

The OD of the delrin I removed from the wheel is .315 and the OD of the axle I need to fit (ID of the bushing needed) is .186. I need 12 of these little darlins’ as these are three axle trucks.

Thanks

Andre ,
A good source of plastic tube is empty aerosol cans . Or trigger operated kitchen cleaner bottles . Or perfume bottles–very small tube here .I have tubing from these type of thing from 3/32 outside diameter(o/d) to 1/4 o/d , and being polypropylene ,stretches a bit so can generally be force fittted on to axles . Or made into short flexi drive shafts , -I leave their use to your imagination .
How to get the aerosol open ?
Make sure it’s empty . Get a small razor saw and gently cut into the can near the neck . This way , a hole gradually appears ,make sure you don’t sniff the gas residue or spill liquid residue on yourself . Cut open .
Or do what I do , put the empty can on a rock and shoot it with an air rifle , much more fun . Especially that thrill of fear just as you squeeze the trigger and wonder " did I put a full can up to shoot "
The structure of the pump tube is a good source of springs too .
CHILDREN --this is not a game .

Try TAP Plastics. They mail order and have all kinds of plastics and sizes. On the TAP site click on the San Leandro, Calif. store. Its manager, Russ Miller, is a garden railroader. If they have anything that can help you Russ is the guy to ask.
