Lewis and Clark start their expedition to the west - leaving Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 11 in the morning.

Actually, Lewis left Pittsburgh today to head down the Ohio River, and met up with Clark in October. They prepared over the winter, and set out in May 1804.
Thanks Bob! Them little date fact things aren’t always real clear. I still thought it was a good reminder of where we’ve been
Interesting that in 1803, Pittsburgh was the “Wild Frontier”

Here I thought this thread was about Steve’s birthday??
I’m older than that.
Love to hear the argument that the Lewis and Clark Expedition started out from Pittsburgh. Local Historians(?) constantly argue over the fact of whether the expedition started in St. Charles, Missouri (supported by Missourians and drummed into young Missouri skulls for many years) or Hartford, Illinois (supported by people in Illinois and drummed into the heads of kids in Illinois schools).
Naaa…all wrong;
...after opening Clark Dairy in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Tommy Clark and his young friend Sean Lewis took off on an adventure that led them through both those locations, after starting here in Ottawa.
…some durn Yankee started those other tales after thinking that Tommy and Sean had a great story, and wanted to take advantage of the popularity.
We learned this from the Chippawa Indians, who helped them along part of the way…like to the first crossroad, where they caught the stage coach…
Uncle Bill HicKcaugh was the guy that guided them for a few miles later…but then they all found pleasure at a bordello, that stands today near the LSC chat shack. Drop in sometime and learn more about the stories of this great place called North America. We frequently hear new stories, about the explorers and Bordello Girls, in the LSC Chat Shack.
…and they started later than 11:00 in the morning, I can tell you…Sean was known to never arise until Noon, and the stage coach got to the crossroads around 13:00, or later, where it took them 3 hours to change horses, and fuel the driver.
Ned Smith was the stage coach driver, and he was a slow drinker…and usually spent at least an hour “Playing” with Penella, the bar keep at the crossroads horse exchange and stage coach stop.

Help me, Chris…as a history major, you can tell more of the story, from where I left off, at the bordello…
Fred Mills said:I think that's when the cops came, and we ended up sitting on the bench in the cell. You were saying, "She didn't look like a cop."
