I concur! SWMBO wanted crown molding in the living room so we used the urethane stuff with the corner blocks. More dough but less hassle!

I HATE IT! I hate making the cuts. I’m almost always wrong and then BAM! a ten foot run is no good.
Also I think it looks fussy–I like a clean line with no molding most of the time. OR so I tell msyelf

I measure twice, allow an extra half inch, and it is still a quarter inch too short! AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!
Must be cold with snow! I agree also.
Never done crown molding, just the regular PITA kind…around the windows, doors etc. Doing some now in a couple spare rooms. Spackling and paint can hide a multitude of sins…
Depends, are we talking wood crown moulding or the foam stuff?
The wood stuff requires a PHD in advanced fractal geometry to correctly cut the angles, the foam stuff just requires a good putty knive, joint compound and a good eye
