… SWMBO is clearing the wilderness and then planting more stuff.
How’s that for a nifty tool box?

Most beautiful, Hans. Cute railroad too
And then I had to go and order another 5 tons of rock and gravel. Delivered today, won’t start shoveling and wheeling 'til Monday! It’s hot enough to parboil that proverbial brass monkey.
At the moment we still have a severe thunderstorm watch in effect (courtesy of the Washingtonians and tribes even farther South).
That electrical storm is really interfering with AM radio reception. Hot as heck out, light breeze, just right for a fire storm.
Glad I keep 200 feet mowed all around!

The heat of Summer is not the time to be doing a lot of over strenuous work. There will be plenty of time when this weather breaks to beat yourself up. But if you over stress right now, when it gets nicer you will be still layed up. Choose your poison carefully.
No shoveling til Tuesday, at the earliest.

Meantim we’re washing rocks. It is pouring like crazy, the thunderstorms come through at regular intervals, 2-3 hours. And the downpipes can’t cope - too much rain, too much roof, not enough cross section. Designed for the “eternal sunshine” of the Okanagan Valley.

We had a similar problem with one section of gutter. I drilled five holes and fitted them with reticulation joiners to keep the excess water dripping into the roof cavity. Drainage-wise, your photo looks just like the front of our place during a heavy downpour.
One of the nice things about living near mountains is that you can go up into the hills and pick your own rocks. The idea of paying for the skull and 2 man rocks is bothersome.
Nice clean rocks!
HJ,
What’s the weather today? Is it a work day? Stretch out first.

Stretch? Dogs do that for me on the walk, one lagging behind, sniffing, the other pulling ahead, sniffing. Automatic routine every morning.
Sounds like the dogs know there job.
It is summer right. Or did I miss the memo. It was in the high 50’s this morning and this afternoon low 80’s and no humidity. It actually felt good to roll the windows down and no AC on in my van.
by the way who has the bigger pile of stones HJ or Bart? ; )

Todd, I'd say that honor goes to jb, at least recently. Take a look at this.
SWMBO would get upset if ours was the biggest pile of stone, she keeps on planting and planting

So true, I also get to check what’s new and exciting. Any deer, any bears, any coyotes, rattle snakes anywhere?
The rocks that got washed have now been placed along with most of that large mound of dirt.

The red lines indicate the future location of the covered roadbridge. Things are ready for planting by SWMBO, the road way is marked with paint, don’t need plants there. AND the last material delivery for this year is scheduled for tomorrow, another 4.5 tons.
