There Back!!!
Well the old link to the forum came back …
The new home page looks so strange.
The Forum link not working yet.
Or is it me?
Sean

I can’t get into thee forums by either link, from the old site, or the new one… Looks like it’s still a ““work in progress””…

The forum link is not working for me either…the Aristonauts must be going crazy not being able to slap each other on the back on their own fora.

No, I don’t think it is you. Looks like a less-than-done (super-super rare with blood dripping) effort that is definitely not ready for prime time.

More broken than working and none of the products I looked at had photos. Not a good first impression.

Typical industry … a half a$$ effort the consumer is supposed to get real excited bout.

Fooooeeeeyyyy!

Bob C.

PS I sent a reply email to Scott’s post on the Yahoo forum that he might ought to fix all the broken stuff.

IMHO not a good first impression of the “New & Improved” Web-site. Pictures are a must, links that work are a must, and not to mention some of the pics are either wrong (PCC promo shows Streamliners & as JB pointed out the C-16 is missing a rod or two  ) or not there.

I feel their pain. Revamping the membership site of a national organization right now. Not pretty. Not pretty at all.

there trying. I’ll give him credit for that. would have been real easy to not do a dang thing.
Give it a few days and see if the bugs start to get worked out.

Given a choice, I probably wouldn’t roll out a new web-site incomplete.
I’m sure they had their reasons, and I’m sure it will improve.
Ralph

Hi Guys:

Well I guess an incomplete web site is better than nothing at all. At least they communicated to us that have changed their marketing to now offer direct sales.
Most likely everything was complete and software problems are preventing the menu items from coming up.
At least the bare bones are there.

The email complaints to Scott will make him aware that at least we are all looking!

I worked as a programmer analyst for a few years. Quit that. Management always wants everything “yesterday” who usually have no clue as to the programming effort required to implement the programming changes. Once the programming changes are complete the “manageer” receives the credit and the raise in HIS salary!

Been there, done that, quit that!

Too bad, school was absolutely fascinating. The workplace was simply multiple cubicles of back stabbers ( I am being polite! )

Give the website developer(s) a break!

Norman

ps. the website programmer is not the C-16 photographer !

To be fair the bottom of the web page says Footer test!
So they are just testing some things and it gives them an idea of the traffic they are getting, just doing the test!

my company did the same thing
But does look much improved!!!

And of course, I’m sitting here all smug, reading about my trains, when my server host does a migration and the site goes down for 20 minutes. Whew. Came back, but you gotta be scared…

Aristo page being re vamped with photos of ALL stock. (e mail from Aristo).
I complained to them at incomplete web page which should have been fully operational before launch.
Some PR hey?

Me either, in the years I done html as a hobby I never rolled out anything incomplete publicly. However, the front page looks nice.

Well, thinking about it, it sorta makes sense. The old site was pretty old. The designers probably figured they could get this fixed up a little faster than they did. In the meantime, we all know that something is coming and may say “okay, this is not baked yet, I’ll hold off on my purchase decision a few days…” rather than buying something else. The key is “a few days” of course.

Hmmmmm that is a very interesting testing concept, but right in line with what Aristo does. I would have thought they’d have enough in-house people to put it up with a testing address and get things right with the feedback from their crew.
But that is most likely only for those of us who are extremely anal and obsessive-compulsive - is there a shrink in the house?

I don’t mind the fact that they decided to introduce a new look to their web site, but why shut down the forum while you’re doing that.

Actually after thinking about it last night I think we are going to see a big shift with all manufacturers of any product. I think you are going to see more direct sales to customers because of the internet. The manufacturers don’t need the dealer (middleman) to present their product to the general public anymore. I know that except for a few specialty products that I manufacturer, I see more of my customers buying from the internet because it’s cheaper.

Just my 2 cents.

Because they probably don't have the time to monitor the forum and don't want it over run with people complaining ;) Ralph

Ya Ralph, you’re probably right. Oh well we’ll wait and see.
