Aristo tract house light does not work. Anyone try to take house

I was not really happy to find out that my light did not work. So I thought I would just put a low voltage light in the bottom. But to my amazement, the light shines right through the darn thing. I even painted the bulb black. So how hard is it to fix the light. The bulb seems to be glued in.

Rob,
Sorry. Can’t help you,
But welcome to LSC anyway!

You might have to saw the bottom out and make an access hole. You gotta do stuff like this in large scale from time to time.

I would bet the orignal light shined through it also. Nick jr

Yep - those vacuform buildings are nice to look at but they are translucent and certainly not up to the trials of outdoors. My church roof melted and hail punched holes through the roof. Of course my Piko stuff didn’t get a nick…

For outdoors - I stick with home made or Piko…

The sun just about melted a friends Aristo building. He sent the warped pile back to Aristo with a “nice” note attached. His Pico and Pola’s are still good as new, except for the bird crap.

I’ve noticed that the newer Aristo buildings have gotten away from the vacuum formed roofs.

So far my newer buildings from AC have held up but not in the direct sun full time. Lights work fine and do not show through. Later RJD
