Aristo Streamliner Observation re-lighted bybatteries, & figures

Lighting and figures are installed in the endcap of the Observation car.

So far, I am pleased with the modifications. Remaining work on the Observation is putting the battery pack [3v, 2-C cells], the SPST switch [pos. side] in the baggage compartment[generator/fuel tank?],and sliding the chasis back into the car in the lowered position. JimC. Note of interest? I replaced the brass bushings in the truck of this car with Aristo’s BB journals. If I had known it would be this easy, I would have replaced the worn bushings long ago.

Nice work…

Nice work also from me.

I just converted 24 Eggliners from Incandesent lamps to LED’s. What a power saving. Also added a DCC decoder to each Eggliner. What that gave me was the ability to program the LED’s to operate the way I wanted. It does not make a difference if I run DC or DCC the LED’s still work with the pregram decoder.

BTW: the decoder is designed for HO but has the ability to run the Eggliner motor without buring up. I worked with the manufacter and distributor in the selection of the decoder. I am very impresssed with this decoder. Have ordered more decoders with 4 functions instead of two functions. gives me for options.

I have also found a 5mm LED’s with two leads and three LED’s inside and with a internal computer chip this gives me 7 different colors and 2 patterns, one pattern being each color on for 3 seconds then all colors ramped up and down for all 7 colors. Not prototypical but works fine on making unique designed Eggliners.

Dennis,

Pray tell what exactly are you doing with all those colours in the LEDs? Sounds like the ones we have in our hot-tub, looks pretty good when in use. But Eggliners are not hot-tubs … wait a minute … there are possibilities!

24 of them? Could you shoot a video? :open_mouth:

You don’t have to be crazy to be a Large Scale modeler.

But it sure helps…!! :expressionless:

For several years, as a winter project; I tried hatching a few eggliners, using various means, like incubators and body warmth. I had no success whatso-ever, other than the secure feeling of warmth and stupidity.

If this fellow has 24 of them; he must have had some successful method, which I never discovered.

Pray tell us your methods, and explain how the LEDS and other fancy options are going to effect your lifestyle !!!

The one comment I question is: As to what prototype do you, refer, my dear young Dennis !

All in fun…

Soon. I have 18 of the 24 completely finished, waiting on some parts from Aristocraft for tha last six.

Passengers in the Streamliners:

The same process could probably be accomplished with eggliners. Eggliner I “hatched.”

JimC.

Jeez, the Easter stuff is up already and we have not even had Christmas…:expressionless:

Kinda cute though…

We were talking about hatching egg[liners]…
Jim

Jim: I like your Easter Eggliner Train. Good work.

I made one last year.

I’m waiting for the turkey eggliner myself. HeHe. BTW check out auto zone for 99cent LEDs 3 per pack. Later RJD
