Large Scale Central

Aristo price gouge

About the only American Made RTR G scale is Heartland. Atleast that a beginner will come across. I would do much more in large scale if prices hadnt totaly gone thru the roof. We wanted to do G scale on our indoor overhead layout around the living room ceiling, but with track prices right now, thats not going to happen unless I find a slug of straight track cheap. My next desired project is a Aristo GP40 in Vermont Railway colors. Cheers Mike

Not joining sides with the manufacturers as I can’t afford the price increases either, but if I recall (and I’m sure at least a few of you others will) correctly back during our small resession prices were frozen across the board by the than President at the lowest ADVERTIZED price as of a certain date. Some companies were hit pretty hard, i.e.the car companies and appliance people. After that we started getting rebates with our purchases (Car MSRP $20,000 minus $2500 rebate for your final cost of $17,500 ) so they couldn’t get hit that way by the government again, as the advertized price was $20,000. Maybe this is still on the companies minds.
Remember not all dealers are selling at the higher price but they have to advertise at the higher price.

Well I am taking a rest for a bit, I got pretty much all the stuff I wanted done in my large scale ops and I am waitong for the dust to settle a bit. Meanwhile during the winter months the indoor N empire is growing (BNSF Duluth-Superior) and I am tracking down all the Kato locos befor the next import hike sinks in over here.

Currently new thy are about £60, the next import batch are about £80, most pr owned stuff I get to win is btween £30 to £50, not for long methinks.
