Aristo Pacific with MTH SMOKE!

The smoke unit in my Aristo Pacific died(as usual). I had picked up a couple of MTH units from a fellow Zephyer owner last year. He had put a regulator on them to limit voltage to the fan. I hooked up to the wires that had run to the Aristo unit. The MTH unit went in the Pacific’s smoke box easily. Just cut a couple of cross bars at the bottom and notched a little up on top of the opening, could slide it back to line up. Sure seems to use a lot of power though!

Lookin’ good!

Sweet!

Got any of those MTH units left? I like it!!!

I think I need to get a voltage regulator on it, don’t want to burn it up. Have to call MTH and see if they have any Chuck.

Yes, both the fan and the heater need regulated voltage.

I bought the one from the G scale hudson… Jerry do you know which “size” yours is? Or the part number?

greg

It says NG001 on the top with a 16/12 04 and M.T.H. That’s all I know. Let me know the voltage you figure out.

Jerry can you till us how long over all and how wide? i have used the one they sell for o gage at full bat. voltage 14.8 for about 4 years now
just don’t let it run out.

Looks terrific Jerry,

Nico

3" long,1.25 wide, 1 5/8 deep . All metal.

MTH has very good steam smoke units. The smoke units in the diesel units are good also.
Ron

Yes Jerry i would say yours is a G scale. the ones i have are 2 5/16 long 1 in. wide and over all 1 1/2 deep

Well, the way they smoke, probably does not make any difference what scale!

no your right jerry about the smoke but ele. wise it might. mike started selling the ones i have for displays and replacements from almost
the time he got into o gauge came with inst. how to mount and hook up. got at tca york from parts

David Bodnar found this voltage step down device. Will try to lower the voltage to the heater so I don’t burn it out. I ordered 3 on ebay for like $3 apiece. Could be handy for lots of stuff. Article on it is here:

Then just do a ebay search and they pop right up.

Man, that thing should help with mosquitos this next summer. Nice!

thanks for the post Jerry
