Ran my Mikado today. Been having a burner howling noise. After trying different jets I made a brass sleeve out of a slightly smaller brass tube piece. I cut it, then rolled it out some and cut it again so it was a triangle shape. Rolled it back up. That way you can adjust how it covers the air holes around the jet. Sure solved that problem! Runs nice an quiet now.
Any pics Jerry? Later RJD
Nah, you guys have seen plenty of pix of my Mike/layout. Did have some good plumes this morning. Had a 45 minute run this afternoon, after I mowed. My wife thought the Summerlands chuffer was sort of loud!

No such thing! It’s like strong coffee, it doesn’t exist.
Well the pics we are referring to are for the mod. Later RJD
Okay RJ, maybe tomorrow I will remember!
Here you go RJ. Strip is on, you can see part of the holes. You can slide it around and listen to the sound.

Just a brass tubing piece cut off and sliced, then cut at an angle and curved around again. Stays in place pretty well.
