I could use some tips on how to reinstall the springs in the aristocraft freight trucks…what’s the secret?..HELP!
About the only advise I can give is to wear eye protection for when the springs go zinging past. I tend to use a small flat blade screwdriver and a few choice words…
Some people put a thread through the spring to control it if it goins sprong! a small needle nosed pliers, grip one end, stick the other in, and use the pliers to send the second end home.

The string method is a great idea for not losing the springs.

Hey Dan…thanks for the tips…didn’t realize that HO freight cars have real springs also…can’t imagine trying to install them…will give the dull xacto blade a try…

Thanks Greg…going to try your method along with the string…two have taken off and probably will hear them when I run the vac.
I compress the spring with a very tiny, sharp pointed set of tweezers. Then slide the spring in the holes with an xacto knife. Easy as pie, with a little practise.
Then if you want, put a drop of super glue on each end of the spring once it’s installed.

I also use the super glue, but I only glue it the spring to one side.
