Anyone have any idea as to the ohm reading for a good smoke unit
Low. Very low.
well I’ve got 2 and the lowest one is 19 ohms but does smoke too well especially if the stack is in place remove the plastic stack part it smokes but not too well
So if you are running the smoke units without a fan, about 1/2 amp is what you want.
Why am I telling you this? Because you need to be cognizant of the power your are putting out, actually wattage. adjust your voltage you are running to get about 1/2 amp, or you can trim the resistance.
A common mistake is trying to make a non fan unit put out a lot of smoke. Basically you will melt something. You cannot get “great smoke” unless you have a fan-assisted smoke unit, which actually cooling and protecting the unit, as well as manually forcibly exhausting the smoke.

Realize that, but this one is very poor even at high voltages, it is a factory plug in type and being as I have never ohmed out one before was wondering if this one is on the way out, Bill.
again depends on the voltage… most of them that run from 12 volts are in the 5 ohm range… but you did the calculation for your voltage… right?? so how many amps at your target voltage?
