Aristo Butane Adapter

Does anyone know if the Aristo Butane adapter will fit the Accucraft butane filler nozzle?

I’ve been trying to get Royce to make me one for over a year, but he never seems to get to it. I can use the long adapter tube that came with the engine, but it requires that I drill out the opening in the can and it also leaks a lot at the can connection.

I posted the question on Aristo, but probably the only one there who would know (Greg) is listed as Banned  And I’ll probably get banned for asking, even though I didn’t use the Accucraft name.

All the great ones get banned. That’s how you know you are in good company.

I got a reply on Aristo and tried to respond. Was told I didn’t have permission to post. Thought I was being punished for suggesting an Aristo product might work with some other manufacturer’s product, but then realized I had updated my email and not verified it yet :o

I went ahead and ordered one. No one knew for sure that it works on Accucraft butane fillers, but said that it did work on Roundhouse and thought most were the same.

I am sure it will work on any gas fill valve on a live steamer.

Thanks Jerry. I’m looking forward to not having to enlarge the hole in the top of the butane cans and then dealing with the Accucraft extender tube. It’s kind of a balancing act and tends to leak too freezing my fingers :o

BTW, if you wear glasses with plastic lenses, don’t ever let the butane vapor splash on to them. It eats away at the coating leaving a mark that can’t be cleaned off. When buying new glasses the tech was looking at my old ones and asked me what my hobby was. When I told him model trains, he asked what fueled them. Turns out I had just about destroyed the glasses with the butane vapor. Now I take my glasses off or wear the old damaged ones when fueling.

I wasn’t doubting what you said on the Aristo forum when I said here that no one knew for sure. On Artisto you said “I would think” and here you said “I’m sure”. I liked the “I’m sure” response a lot better and placed an order with Aristo last night. When it comes in I’ll post back on Aristo that it has been tested on Accucraft fill valves.
