I just got an Aristo U.P. bobber caboose.
I need to replace the plastic axles with metal. I got the first axle off after a long struggle but the springs and axle ends popped out too! Now I have to put it back together!
Is there a better way to do this?
Did you unscrew one of the side frames, or just try to pull it out by bending stuff?

That’s what I wanted to do to start with. I took the screws out and it was still solidly attached! I think the Chinese glued it and used screws too! Double your pleasure!
I was finally able to get the metal wheels on the bobber but there is one more hurdle! The axel is a tiny bit too wide and it rubs the side rails. I take it the only solution is filing down the metal wheels?
