Large Scale Central

Are you going to Portland, 2019 ??

I will be there with my wife for two or three days. I hope to have my layout open for the pre-convention tour. That is still being firmed up.

Well barring any unforseens the Wife and I will be there.

Good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise I’ll be there — oh hell, I’ll be there even if the damn creek does rise. I’ve got a daughter, SIL, and a brand new grandson there. In fact, now that I have just about recovered from eye surgery and can soon travel, I’ll be there in the next couple of weeks to meet the little guy, and while I’m there I’ll scope out all the important venues we’ll need for a successful convention — railroad museums, train stores, Voodoo Donuts, micro breweries. Nothing like being prepared …

Cool. Any other layouts you know of going to be on preconception tour? You layout is well worth a visit.

I’d like to go, too early to tell. I’d like to do the narrow gauge convention as well but again way too early to say

It’s on the POA&M. Should be an easy sell to SWMBO, as our daughter lives across the river in Vancouver, WA.

SWMBO says, “Of course, we are going.”

Somebody, please help me up. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Don’t need to. Word good as bond.

I figured (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif), well, it will be a pleasure to meet you in person Steve, unless I see you at TOC’s sooner than that. (but it will still be a pleasure).

Greg,

Are you planning on a trip to TOC’s before the convention?

I’m trying to get up there this year… .I have family in Preston, so the Snoqualimi (??) railroad is on the agenda too.

Its short, the Snoqualmie (close Greg, I’m impressed) I think 1/2 mile in total? But worth checking out if your already in the area.

The better one to check out is the Mt. Rainer RR, but its closed for the rest of the summer because of wildfires in Colorado (parent company).

Amtrak does not serve Hawaii, but I am toying with the idea of making an appearance. May drag a crewman along, too!

Eric;

Regardless of 2019 we should meet and compare notes. I’m on the East side of the big island - far from the flow!

Hoping to get out to Sac and Portland as well.

You can walk out my cousin’s back yard in Preston, and you are on the old right of way, which is now a walking trail.

He’s just off the 90 near the town of Preston.
