Large Scale Central

Anything good to see heading to N. Carolina?

Would that be the proverbial Hershey Highway ???

The F-40 is Amtrak #307 awaiting comestic restoration.

Hmm, I don’t recall seeing that.
But there was a portion of the roundhouse that was closed off and we could not access it, so it possibly could have been in there.

I think it’s outside somewhere ?? Not sure though

It is outside. But it’s in a really tough spot to see out in the yard. An old caboose behind it, and a coach right next to it.
If you look closely, you can see it in this photo from across the yard.

That was definitely not in the yard while we were there, from looking at pictures from others there are a few trains we did not get to see.
But like I said the round house did have a portion of it closed off and I am thinking some of the engines I missed were probably in there.

Ralph…your getting old …I thought this was your picture you put in the Superliner thread and this is why I dug it back up. Too much other stuff/chatter to read I suppose.

We didn’t even see the engine in this picture… but the cabooses were all there.

Edit for spelin

Either way …good stuff Vincent

Hershey used to SMELL of chocolate when you drove through it. (not a political statement only fact… …)

I could just about control my girlfriend as it was with all the chocolate around her!

That is my picture, Rooster. I have several more.
I can’t find didly in the Forum Files. I don’t get a “preview” when I move my cursor over the file like I used to with the old software.
A thousand pictures are just a little too much to “click” through

Ralph - I keep backup copies of what is stored on the web on my local PC organized the same as it is on the web. That way I can browse locally with a thumbnail viewer and find the file name of the photo I’m interested in. Of course that only works when I’m home.

There’s a free tool out there called Download Them All which will allow you to download all the files from a web source at once (Thanks to Bob for that tip)

Thanks for the info, Jon.
99.9% of the photos in my Shed are too large to display properly with the new software.
I may just delete the whole bunch.
As much as I hate to leave all those posts without photos, having posts where only 1/3 of the photo is displayed is just as unsatisfactory.
A clean Freight Shed would make things easier going forward.

Those ‘too large’ photos can easily be viewed in their entirety by those who know enough to use the View Image function of their browser. I’d suggest you don’t delete them as even a partial picture on a thread is better than a red X.

OR if you were hugely ambitious, you could download them then run them through batch re-size in IrfanView then replace all the old ones in your shed with re-sized images with the same file name.
