Anyone like cars?

I did like upsetting car owners that have bigger wallets than balls with off the wall stuff. For shame being smoked by a Volvo station wagon with the family dog hanging out the window and the 3rd row baby seat flipped down in the back. Have had many toys over the years but more interested in trains and Victorian architecture these days so perhaps I’m getting old.

I think I see your problem: That’s NOT a car, it’s an engine.

Young kids…sheesh…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Huh…I thought it was the other way around? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Did you still love your job after 30yrs?

Heh…never got to work one place that long…

maybe it was those recommendations I got that sounded like “You’ll be lucky if you can get this guy to work for you”…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

I never had a job for that long, but I have been a copier repair tech now for 24 years. Yes I still love my job, I just have to keep changing employers, because my supervisors end up becoming bullies. I guess its my laid back attitude, that draws the inner bully out of folks who are predisposed be being a bully.

When I was in my 20’s, I had a Mazda 323 4 door. Definitely not a “sports car”. But, with the 5 speed manual transmission, I could squeeze every bit of power out of that little 4 cylinder engine. I used to have fun jumping off the line and leaving them middle aged men, with their first “sports car” behind. One day I smoked a guy in a Mazda RX7 four times in a row. He got out of his car at the 5th red light, and came after me waving his umbrella. I guess its my fault that he was shifting before he got the RPMs up into the sweet spot of the power curve. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)Boy was that car a lot of fun.

My car 32 Rdster, replica, 350/350 great grocery & wine store “getter”.
For “sail” or trade.
Sorry can’t figure how to post pix.

I have a '65 Ford Mustang Coupe, in dark ivy green. 6 cyl, 200 CID engine, AM radio. The one in this pic has a 289, but this will give you the idea. I don’t have any pics, she’s in the garage, and its raining.

I’m the second owner. I got it as cheap transportation in grad school, 1971. I’ve been restoring it bit by bit, ever since.

Edit: Ooops, this is a 66, perhaps a 67. Sorry. You can tell by the “air scoops” just aft of the door. The 64 1/2 and 65 didn’t have any chrome, there. That is the only visible body difference.

This is my '64 Corvette (from 0:55 - 1:55) used in shooting the “Wheeler Dealers” TV show. When Mike Brewer came back from driving the car he said, and I quote, “I think I wet myself a little on that one!”

Well my rides include my one owner bought new special order 1971 Monte SS 454 365hp. Also I have a 2016 Charger Scat Pack 485hp and then my daily driver 2017 Volt year old and on 2nd tank of gas.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif) Yep still have not got the hang of posting pics. Later RJD

Bow Tie and Mopar. Nice! That’s what I’d like to do as well. I’ve had my eye on a Challenger Hell Cat for quite a while now.

Steve, I used a 64 1/2 Mustang Pony. It looked as shown( actually a 65 shown)

The one I drove had spinners on the caps but just to show the chrome.

I like your car Cynthia, that is pretty clever to put the Corvette cove on it. I bet people do a double take on it all the time.

I am into cars and I built my dream car that has been on the road 17 years this Summer.

Here is a fun train video I made a few years back. If you fast forward to the end you will see my car.

Beautiful! (not the Mack) Another ride on my list of “If I win the lottery.”

building one is a lot cheaper than buying the original, and probably even more fun.

3 cars, the daily driver is a Fiat electric car with 400 ft-lbs of torque… in 0-30 pretty few cars can beat it. My commute is under 4 miles so don’t need to bring out the heavy iron for commuting.

Even if it is a Fiat, the drivetrain and electronics all German, as my other 2 toys.

Had 2 REAL mini coopers before, those were fun. Of course English cars are as fickle as Italian women…

Greg

In 1979 I had a friend selling a real first generation cobra, with the 260 ci and recirculating ball steering. (Most people don’t even realize that they came with 260 ci engines.) Number “hundred-something or other.” The car needed some work/restoration (crack in the passenger door for one thing).

He wanted $12.5K at the time and I had half of that. I tried to borrow the other half from my dad. I was 25 at the time and had a steady job with a big engineering firm.

He asked me “What will it cost to restore it?”

I told him “About another ~$12.5K.”

Then he asked “What will it be worth when done?”

And I told him “About $25 - $35K.”

He said it wasn’t a good investment and wouldn’t loan me the money.

Car is now worth well over a million dollars!

A real Monte had a swivel drivers seat (back in the day in the hood)

Real nice Todd!
