The “old” and “new” style transmitters use different screens. I’ve got a spare screen from an old-style transmitter, but John’s half-dead screen is on a new-style transmitter. (Plastic keys vs. rubber keys, for those wondering how to tell the difference.)
I’ll be glad to see the Revolution make a return to the market, and I hope they can finally come through with their promises of improved sound. Even with the newer DCC decoders and wireless receivers coming down in price, you’re still looking at $250ish for receiver plus sound/motor decoder. If they can get good quality sound (not what they had) and a receiver for around $150, I think they’d do well. If they go with a sound receiver at that price point, though, I’d like to see them bring back the non-sound receiver for those who either don’t want sound or want to pair it with a 3rd-party sound system.
Later,
K
