Any source for a brake lever?

Looking for the kind that stick up of the floor of the car to about waist level, with a grippable lever on it to engage or disengage or whatever. Like they have on Cable Cars, but all I want is the lever, not the rachet or other stuff. Ozark has a throttle control that is close, but has all the other stuff molded to it. I could cut it off, I suppose, but would prefer to start right if I’m gonna buy anything.

Rooster made something similar for the throttle on Utility. If you ask nice he might show you a picture

Oh wait, you don’t want the ratchet lever? Without that it wouldn’t be too hard do make just rod from brass.

I want the rachet lever, just that the toothed arc that it interacts with is not there.
Hmm. Does that even make sense? Otherwise, yeah, brass rod, I even have that down in the basement… somewhere.

Wasn’t this discussed before? This is like De Ja Vu all over again.

Well, I would have thought so, but I was not able to find such a discussion in this forum, or others. But I’m new here.

Rooster, can you help out on this?

Give TRACKSIDE DETAIL a try

I cannot ...as the johnson bar in Utility was stolen from a parts box so I cheated.....However Mik made a budget one from a hook and loop coupler as I seem to recall. Honestly If I was to make one it would be out of brass or aluminum parts with the rachet box out of styrene.

Is that what it’s called, a Johnson bar? Thanks for the hints. I’ll probably end up lightly machining a brass rod. Or I suppose I could make a casting of the one my lil’ Bachmann engineer is holding.

And with that information, I found this post: http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewtopic.php?id=16167 and an accucraft product at Reindeer Pass. Thanks, fellers!
