I agree.
I stayed home and was off the net except for LSC. I worked on the trolley project and didn’t spend 10 cents. It was a nice day!

What about cyber monday? I didnt buy anything train related but I did get a new pair of snowshoes for the winter.
I worked at The Rail Yard (one of our LHSs here in Roanoke) both Friday and Saturday. I frequently help out there during the holiday season. While there were no “killer” deals such as the big chains offered and we opened at the normal hour of 10:00 am, there was plenty of cheerful, friendly, personal service. Friday night I accompanied my wife and older daughter to a local mall (maul?). Just for fun I checked the price of the J. C. Penney Lionel O gauge set. $229.00. Gee, we have a comparable set at the hobby store for $179.95. I guess we do have some great deals!
Best,

Actually with all things considered it’s not too bad, the 9000F will only be the fourth one since 1992. The real surprise: Canon’s eShop had the best Canadian Online price and free shipping, go figure!

Friday was also "Buy Nothing Day", suited my frame of mind perfectly! :P :P :P
So far I’ve succeeded at “Cyber Monday”, also. Working toward making it the next 8 hours and I’ve got it made.

We do have to start the car today. We need to take the chainsaw to be worked on!
My CyberSunday order arrived yesterday. Works like a charm! No more waiting for warm-up, no more white line where there shouldn’t be one.
My N goodies from Japan arrived. Awaiting one last package to begin something fun.
Let’s see Victor, first we had the pizza layout for g scale. How small can you make one in n?

Well Doug, I just received these two N Kato Pocket Line sets:

and two packs of Tomix track:

I can make a 9” x 14” oval with each. I am waiting for a Japanese Castle model kit to arrive And will use it as the centerpiece for a new small microlayout about 10” x15”
But I have done smaller with HO, this layout is only 9” x 10” in HOn30, its all that remains of my HO days from wayback.

Micros are fun to build and detail, and don’t take up a spare room. One can experiment in different scales and techniques without committing to a full blown layout. I’m really tempted to try something in T gauge, yes that’s a WORKING electric model train !!!

Is “T” smaller than “Z”?
Ric;
Sure is smaller. I saw some photos over on buntbahn.de Galerie (the German train enthusiast site) showing 1:22.5 figures setting up a garden railway of their own using T scale equipment. Admittedly, the trains would have just been under ride-on size (#3 gauge plus), but they still looked small enough for a 1:22.5 figure to lift by himself/herself.
Best,
David Meashey
Victor, I for one, am again amazed at your ability to create such a believeable scene in such a limited space. Do you have more pics of the HOn30 layout ?
Ric Golding said:"T" is less than half the size of "Z", scale is 1:450, track gauge is 3mm. The people who model in that size are ... nuts!
Is "T" smaller than "Z"?
@ Vic,
Humour on:
You could build a N-scale layout on the rim of a Stetson, make it a Canadian theme and use a RCMP Stetson.
Then Z on a Cylinder Hat with really steep, overhanging cliffs on the side and a rotating restaurant on the top.
After that it’s down to T inside a Yarmulke.
Humour Off!

I sensed a strong Brit influence on that … however the truly amazing thing is, that train keeps running even though it is upside down or whatever they are in the Land of Oz.
