Bump for post count !
I looked at the first post stats.
If you and Cliff teamed up and just posted 17 more, there is a chance you could pull off a coup…
But remember, there’s only one letter difference between coup and coop. It’s a very dangerous game you play when trying out-do the guy who Rules the Roost. He’s allegedly been playing this game his whole life…

Back in the Pre-Amtrak and early Amtrak days, the Burlington Northern routes often sported a wide array of colors crisscrossing the northern US.
History tidbit on passenger train, one must remember certain cars from many road names, were seen on many long routes intermixed.Sleepers and baggage among them. RPOs and mailcars also.
How can you not love the E60CHUGLY …it couldn’t help it was born ugly?

Re: EDIT… safety first!
Hence, Cliff shows us again the importance of adequate ice-shielding!
I’m happy to say I finally made it up to Rooster’s place, where he toured me through his amazing Victorian he’s restoring to full grandeur, and of course his layout.
It’s been cold and rainy, and the layout is put to bed for the season, but it was great to see it all with my own eyes. That’s his shed-shop in the background.
Here’s a peek at his Amtrak consist, much of it heavily customized if not scratchbuilt.
Then there’s the house. He’s posted on much of this, including the model he made of it, but I wanted to add my pics.
He has quite the interesting collection of glass hens…
The ceiling medallions are awesome. I think these were the main things I wanted to see, and wasn’t disappointed.
Everywhere, there’s beautiful woodwork, upon which he’s spent years to restore or reproduce. Here you see one of the many faux gas lamp fixtures he’s built.
Bravo, Rooster, and thanks for the tour!
Cliff
Cliff,
Thanks for the visit and glad you enjoyed. The Hens are Indiana Glass only as that’s all I collect. But I have them all (I think). You bypassed the history cabinet and it’s a good thing as you might still be here.
You will understand better on somethings with these.
The drawn map in the hallway is dated 1903 I was off by a year.
1972?
Hokie Smoke, Bullwinkle, we’re going to have to schedule a road trip to The Royal House of Rooster!
Those pics do indeed amplify what you’d said, thanks Rooster.
