The Battle of Britain class of streamlined Pacific type locomotives (Southern Railway of England) were nicknamed “Spam cans” by England’s railfan community. So, I suppose you could do the model up in Amtrak livery and call it “Spamtrak.”

There was also the cat “Peake”, known as Chessie’s Old Man… I have a deck of bridge cards with both of them pictured on them…I bought them on a passage aboard a C&O car ferry across one of the Great Lakes…a few moons ago.

Got me planning my next trip on Amtrak, next summer, going to fly to a Portland and ride Amtrak’s Empire Builder to Chicago, might shorten the fly part and fly to LA and then ride Amtrak’s Coast Starlight north to Portland , then go to Chicago

When we went, we had to let the conductor know we wanted to get off, and call again to get picked up.
I learnt down hill crossed country skiing is harder than up-hill.
I do, but we will be going without stops. Getting multi stop tickets to be able to get off and on on this route isn’t an easy thing, unless you plan well ahead, you may have to wait a few days to get back on, since it’s a busy route that sells out a lot
