Ric used to know how to do that and then Bob changed the rules and called it an upgrade. Who would a thunk a space is a %20. I don’t know what bothers me more. The fact that I couldn’t figure out how to resolve it or better yet, that I have friends, good friends, that actually knew how to resolve it.
Sometimes its truely scarey between my two ears.

Well, I don’t know how to tell you this, but a space has been %20 (ASCII Code 20) since before computers had keyboards. The ASCII Code was invented, I believe, for the standardization of teletype machines. I don’t think Bob had much to do with it
Seriously, before My Files, the old way was to open you picture, then cut-and-past the URL from one browser window into the post in another. That still works spaces and all.
Do you create the picture names on your computer, or does your camera software do it? If you are creating them, start using underscores _ or dashes - instead of spaces.

I’m not very good at killing a bison with a club, either.

I let the camera do it. I just add the date of when I offload the pictures. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

The cutting and pasting was how I always did it. Now when I highlight the picture in the freight shed and hit edit the only choice that is highlighted is “delete”. I’m not blaming Bob, I feel he just installed a different software that works different. I didn’t/don’t have the time or patiences to figure it out. With info you and others gave me, I jury rigged the use of the “My Files”, can’t say I find it as easy as the rest of you do over the old way. I get no joy in the mechanics of this type of stuff, I just want the results.
My time allotment is sometimes rather small for this type of stuff, steal a minute here, rob a minute there between battles of other people’s problems. I think you are much the same.
It’s all for fun. Thanks for your time, expertise and support.
No problem Ric
If you just use the file list shown at http://www.lscdata.com/users/rgolding/ rather than the Freight Shed page, you can just click on the picture you want, then cut and paste the URL from the top of the browser. No need to edit in the old %20 symbols.
I know what you mean about gettingthe time to put picture posts together. I’ve had updated tree pruning pictures sitting in my computer for a mionth to update an older post. Still haven’t done it.
OK Andy - You can have your thread back now
Beating a dead horse, but trying to learn. “If you just use the file list shown at http://www.lscdata.com/users/rgolding/ rather than the Freight Shed page, you can just click on the picture you want, then cut and paste the URL from the top of the browser. No need to edit in the old %20 symbols.” I tried this. I hit on the file you stated - http://www.lscdata.com/users/rgolding/ I went to the first picture. Turned it blue. Hit on Edit at the top of the page. No choices avaialble. I right clicked the mouse and got the option of hitting “Cut” or Copy". I choose “Copy”. I went to this panel to insert the photo and right clicked on the mouse, only option was delete. I went to the top of the screen and clicked on

It posted, but what I wanted to show was the picture. I are still confused, but very satisfied. After posting this thread, I’m more confused becasue the picture showed. I expected the statement. Does the Article section work differently? IAhheeee!
Ric, it is empirically obvious to the casual observer… at least that is what my math prof said when he couldn’t figure out the problem, either…
What I meant was to open the picture from that list by double clicking. The cut and paste I use are keyboard shortcuts (CTRL-Insert and Shift-Insert or CTRL-C and CTRL-V). I didn’t even notice if cut/paste was available in any of the menus with the filename highlighted.
In Firefox you can right click and “Copy Link Location” to get it into the paste buffer. Don’t know if that works in IE since I quit using it.
Anyway - Glad you found something that works
This is the pix testing forum is it not? Here is my first try.
