Large Scale Central

Another loss to the hobby...

I am sure that some or many of you migrated to the large scale community from the smaller scales, as I did. I just read on the Narrow Gauge Discussion Forum that long time model railroader, researcher, historian, and author Chuck Yungkurth has passed on. Here is a link to the thread on the NGDF.

Mr. Yungkurth worked in the museum library some, and, on the basis of a simple phone call, spent a few hours and showed tireless patience in helping me find a book with prototype images of Hop Gulch Bridge, a Colorado Midland Railway bridge, a while back because I wanted to make it the model for the bridge of the upper loop on my railroad. He helped me take pictures of the pages of the big book where he found the pictures. He didn’t make a big deal out of it but he made me feel good that he took my request so seriously. I didn’t really even get a chance to thank him properly.

Here’s a couple of the many pictures he found for me.
