ANOTHER FRIEND HAS LEFT US

Early last Saturday morning, October 9th, Ottawa Valley GRS member Gord Larabie was out hunting with his brother, his two sons Brad and Tyler, and their friend Matt Ali, when he suffered a massive heart attack. He was rushed to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute where died Wednesday afternoon October 12th without regaining consciousness. Gord was 45 years young and enjoyed running trains his sons Brad, Tyler, their friend Matt, and his father-in-law Gord Bellamy.

Here are Gord, Brad, Matt and Tyler resting in Nelson Yard during the 2010 American Invasion of Ottawa. A cheerful person, a good father and friend, he will be dearly missed.

I am so sorry to here this. My condolences to Gord’s family, both blood and his OVGRS family.
Such a loss at so young of age.

Yes, condolences from here too. That’s two now in the last month that we know of the other was Rick Brown!! Sad to hear of this! Regal

Ahhh, crap. Condolences to close friends and family.

:frowning:

I am so sorry. Please convey my sympathy to his family.

Sad news, indeed. I never met Gord, but I can sympathize with the hurt his family is feeling now. His death came much too early.

Wow, that’s so young. My condolences to his family and friends.

This was really a shock. I got an email today and it has pretty well been the thoughts the rest of the day. He was such a good friend to everyone and you really didn’t end conversations with him, they just paused until you continued the next year. His love and pride for his boys, was unmeasurable.

my condolances to his friends and family…

45 that is way to young, My condolences.

Condolencaes adn sorry for the loss…much to young echoes here too…at least he died doing something he enjoyed with people he loved…

So sorry to hear about that. He was a great guy to talk with at each Invasion; I know he’ll be missed by those who only saw him annually and much more by those that were closer to him. Our condolences, as well.

I was on the road and had just got done eating lunch in a truck stop in Haines City, FL, when I got the message from Ric. Quite a shock to me as it was to everyone else. I enjoyed his company and his truck driving stories, but most of all his humor and warmth. Always a smile, always a good word…the dispatchers shanty at the IPP$W won’t be the same with him not sitting in there.

Rest in peace, my friend!
