Large Scale Central

Another for sale: One of a Kind (AFAIK) White Pass Widecab Dies

This is the only large scale model like this I’ve ever seen… it’s the LGB 20550 (originally 2050) White Pass diesel with a rebuild of the front end to become a wide cab a la WP&Y 114 (also US Gypsum 111-112-113 which were originally headed for the WP&Y.) The cab windows are glass, and the control stand etc is carried over… the green class lights work, as does the red flashing “Meatball” light, and the headlight. The model was built by the late Lee Vande Visse, and was Model Railroader’s “Model of the Month” in (I think) April 2002. The air intakes are still removeable to access the switches, etc underneath as with the LGB model, and it is for all intents and purposes an LGB 20550 underneath, except that it has Kadee couplers installed. Price: $600.00 (negotiable.) I spent more than that on the conversion, and another $330 on the donor locomotive… so negotiate gently! Matthew (OV)

You mean you would be insulted if someone offered you $100 ?

That is a unique model. I hope you can find someone who can appreciate what it is. I do, but I’m in selling mode, not buying :frowning:

No, not offended. That’d rent it for a year or so …

If I only had the money I would give it a good home, heck, I would relay the tight curve and retaining wall so I could run it. I hope someone gives it a good home soon. Cheers Mike

Mike,

This’ll really make you think about it … it’ll run on R1 curves! Mechanically, it’s an LGB 2050/20550.

I hope someone gives it a good home soon, too.

Matt
