Started on the frame too…

Looking good.

Very nice!
That method of building passenger cars is one to try!

Alec

Great progress Bart! That’s going to be a really nice looking car.

So, enforced time off, and Mojenator in gear results in progress on the passenger car truck front!

Alumilite Casting, Bachmann Wheels, and a fabricated bolster beam…

Top beams in place…

All squared up and endbeams in place letting glue dry…

Right side up…still gotta add brake gear, leaf springs, coil springs, nuts, bolts, braces…

Carbody will actually ride a bit higher on the trucks, but the overall look is good!

Had a hardtime getting focused on the project today…this was all I got accomplished…

Looking good Bart.

Ok spent the day finishing up the trucks… I could have gone on to infinity adding parts and details and just make them more and more fragile…sometimes ya just gotta know when to say when…

Nice. “sometimes ya just gotta know when to say when” - Ain’t that the truth  You’ve got all the major elements and then some. Plenty for something that will sit in the shadow of the car.

So today I fiddle a bit getting the roof to fit…and stay…I added some thine styrene from a “No Hunting” sign for strength on the styrene stringers…

So far its looking good! Lets bring some components together for a group photo…

Hmmmm yep… Its starting to look like a passenger car!

Those 2 would look good running together…

Welp its been a while, but as part of the Personal Challenge I’ve dusted off this project and got back to work…before it went into mothballs I did complete it to the point it got a metal roof sheathing made of Diet Pepsi cans…

and some detailing was added to the chasis/frame…

After the dust was blown off, I sealed teh seams in the roof with aluminum furnace tape…it was my first time working with this stuff, and I’m really impressed with the possibilities…

Also while waiting to proceed on other projects today I rounded off the corners with appropriate wooden bits…
